Famous director Ram Gopal Varma appeared before the police on Friday for questioning over allegations that he posted morphed images on social media. It is claimed that morphed images of Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and Nara Lokesh were shared with inappropriate captions.
After the investigation, Varma made a sarcastic post on his social media account, "X," which quickly went viral. In his post, he wrote, "I love Ongole... and I love Ongole Police even more, cheers!" There is now a discussion on social media about whether his comment was genuinely a compliment to the police or a sarcastic remark implying they couldn't do anything to him.
During the investigation, the police asked Varma to hand over his mobile phone. However, Varma informed them that his phone was with his son-in-law, who had already gone to Hyderabad. But when the police tracked the phone's location, it was found to be at the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) district office.
When the police went there to retrieve the phone, they were blocked by YSRCP leader and former MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy. This led to a heated argument. Tensions rose when Varma questioned why his phone was at the YSRCP office, and the situation escalated. In the end, the police had to leave without retrieving the device.
